In ExoCross Championship Mode, you’ll take on six different series—two per car—on the path towards becoming ExoCross’ Ultimate Champion. As you advance, you’ll take on higher horsepower and more challenging courses with each series. Today, we start things off with a look at the Vulcan ExoSensation, the second campaign featuring the Vulcan XC-1500.
Vulcan ExoSensation
Did you dig the Vulcan XC-1500 Open? Good news—we’ve flipped it and reversed it for ExoSensation, allowing you to see these tracks in a new light. It’s another series that will allow you to gain experience in the full-contact, open-wheeled off-road racing that Proteus is known for, before you step up to faster cars and bigger tracks down the line.
Round 1: Lakefront Esses Reverse | 2 Laps
Remember the chicane-bridge combo that could be so frustrating at the start of this track last time out? It’s at the very end of the lap now, so you should have plenty of time to settle in and not be stuck going two-wide into it. The downside is that you might need to check up to not go two-wide into the rock-face chicane after the first couple of uphill corners.
Round 2: Velocidrome Lower Forward | 2 Laps
Turning Velocidrome around means you’ll have another look at the wide-sweeping lefthander that is Alphaterra’s signature corner. It also means that you’ll see most of the Forward version of Speedring, which kicked off the XC-1500 Open. Keep it tidy in the back half of the track, make sure you’re committed to your lane under the split bridge, and go full-throttle as much as you can—and don’t forget to defend from cars using their boost to try and get past you.
Round 3: Bluetree Harvest Forward | 2 Laps
As you come back to Ultima, don’t be fooled by the wide open spaces in front of you on this version of Bluetree Harvest. If you push too hard and hit the bumps at the wrong angle, you just might go flying even further into space. Read the roads and let the car pull you through to where you need to be, and you should be in a great position to charge to the front.
Round 4: Speedring Reverse | 4 Laps
What we called “the most famous first turn in ExoCross” last time is now its most famous last turn. The tighter corner on Speedring becomes a right-hander to start the lap, and the difference in approach changes the entire feel. That leaves a wide open final corner for you to set up a move in your push back to the finish line.
