ExoCross Championships: Titan ExoCross Internationals

In ExoCross Championship Mode, you’ll take on six different series—two per car—on the path towards becoming ExoCross’ Ultimate Champion. As you advance, you’ll take on higher horsepower and more challenging courses with each series. Today, we’ll take you through the final championship in the game: the Titan ExoCross Internationals.

Titan ExoCross Internationals

You’ve won everything else there is to win—now it’s time to finish things. The ExoCross Internationals are your second shot at the Titan XC-7000, and with 10 of the toughest layouts on Proteus ahead of you, this is where you’ll need to truly put your best foot forward to have a shot at winning the title. Claim this crown, and nobody will ever be able to deny your excellence.

Round 1: Mint Valley Reverse | 2 laps

Combining Ultima’s Bluetree Harvest and Goldenkurve, the reverse layout of Mint Valley saves the giant paved hairpin for the very end of its lap. Be prepared to shift your driving techniques as the layout regularly bounces back and forth between dirt and pavement.

Round 2: ExoCrossing Forward | 6 laps

Your first of two visits to Alphaterra in this championship is the first of three figure eights on the schedule, starting on the Velocidrome Upper bridge before sending you down through On Ramp and into a tricky right-hand hairpin. Nail it with the handbrake here, charge through the right-hand sweeper under the bridge, and try not to cut too hard on the left-hand hairpin to finish the lap, and you should make quick work of the competition.

Round 3: Catwalk Reverse | 3 laps

Welcome to Boreas, the most unforgiving environment on Proteus. The snow and ice of the mountains below you proved so unforgiving that this whole complex had to be built hundreds of feet above the ground to produce a raceable layout. The bad news? Danger abounds at every corner, as you won’t have walls to keep you on course if you make mistakes—and the few barriers you’ll see are usually exposed in ways that will shear off a wheel. Be careful!

Round 4: Persimmon Blaze Reverse | 2 laps

Four of the 10 schedule slots in the Internationals are occupied by Ultima layouts, including this treat that combines Goldenkurve and Crimson Wheatland. The bad news? You’ll be taking Goldenkurve the hard way, coming off the blind left-hand crest that appears about halfway through the lap. Try to keep it clean and be sure to manage your wheel spin on the paved sections.

Round 5: Pandemonium Forward | 6 laps

With a name like Pandemonium, you know what you’re getting, right? Your second visit to Boreas starts on the track’s lower route, charging uphill into one of the toughest hairpins on all of Proteus. Called Calamity Corner by most of the top drivers, just surviving Turn 1 here—even from last on the grid—can be all it takes to at least finish on the podium.

Round 6: Pincers Reverse | 6 laps

Bid farewell to Alphaterra with this quirky layout, which subtracts the Speedring elements from Velocidrome Upper Reverse and adds two handbrake-heavy corners at the end of the lap. The first is the same descent from On Ramp that you saw four rounds ago on ExoCrossing, and the second is a right-hander to take you away from Speedring’s familiar frontstretch.

Round 7: Indigo Hills Forward | 2 laps

Crimson Wheatland’s even mix of dirt and pavement combines with Bluetree Harvest’s open air to give drivers a fun challenge in their third race on Ultima. By now, you know what makes for a good result in this desert-like environment: read the roads as best as you can to lay down the Titan’s excessive horsepower in the sand, and keep it on the ground as much as possible!

Round 8: Octocircuit Forward | 6 laps

With a track name like Octocircuit, of course this was destined to be the eighth round of the championship. This time around, Megaterra’s figure eight layout starts atop the bridge from Peaks and Valleys Forward, your first hairpin will be a hard left coming off the grated banking, and the chicane-bridge combo starts with the pass under the bridge, giving you a little extra time to prepare for the left-right shift.

Round 9: Highwire Forward | 3 laps

Your final visit to Boreas mixes fast and flowing corners with the track’s usual challenges: uneven surfaces of different consistencies, exposed guardrails, bridges, and plenty of places to go flying if you blow a turn. Take advantage of the longer straightaways to start the lap as best as you can to get some clear space before the sharper corners start coming.

Round 10: Outer Rings Reverse | 2 laps

Outer Rings is Proteus’ longest layout, a triumph of high-speed, multi-surface action across a three-minute lap. The clockwise version of this monstrosity puts together the best parts of all three of Ultima’s smallest courses to provide a highly rewarding race experience. There’s no better place to win, whether it’s just taking the checkered flag after two laps or hoisting the final championship trophy after a daunting campaign.
