In ExoCross Championship Mode, you’ll take on six different series—two per car—on the path towards becoming ExoCross’ Ultimate Champion. As you advance, you’ll take on higher horsepower and more challenging courses with each series. Today, we advance you to the Orion XC-3000 and the ExoFest 3000 SuperSeries, your first series with the next-level ExoCross car.
Orion ExoFest 3000 SuperSeries
Compared to what you faced with the Vulcan XC-1500, the ExoFest 3000 SuperSeries is a big step forward. Here, the races get longer, the fields get faster, and the tracks get tougher. The good news? You’ve got enough extra horsepower to make the most of it—and most of our racers agree that the XC-3000 hits the perfect sweet spot between approachable fun and high-speed thrills.
Round 1: Velocidrome Upper Forward | 4 laps
Alphaterra opens your first season in the XC-3000, where you’ll see the “most famous first turn in ExoCross” yet again. The new car’s extra speed makes Alphaterra’s wide open spaces and sweeping corners even more fun, but be careful in the Upper section that you’re seeing for the first time. Overshooting the On Ramp corner can lead to a huge wreck, and misjudging your angle of entry to the Bridge can slide you off course or shear off a wheel. It’s best not to force passes in this area—let them come to you if others make a mistake.
Round 2: Peaks and Valleys Reverse | 3 laps
If you hated the chicane-bridge combination on Megaterra’s Lakefront Esses layout, you should strongly prefer Peaks and Valleys. It takes you onto the upper route of its mountain, putting you on the top side of the bridge. Just be careful about how much air you catch on the route’s natural jump, and don’t carry too much speed into the left-hander that sets you up to come back down to the finish, as they’re the easiest places to overdrive the car and crash.
Round 3: Crimson Wheatland Forward | 3 laps
Named for the reddish, wheat-like plants that border most of the lap, take the red outer areas of Crimson Wheatland as danger. Between numerous rock faces and boulders, uneven dirt mounds, and boundary-marking containers, staying on the trail here is crucial to a good result. You’ll also be faced with quite a bit of tarmac in the second half of the lap, which can make the car slip and slide more than usual, but be prepared to take what you learn from that experience into the next race.
Round 4: Goldenkurve Reverse | 2 laps
Named for its signature corner with its glowing yellow banking on the outside, Goldenkurve is a vast departure from most other ExoCross tracks. You’ll spend most of your time on pavement, including the entire first half of the lap. Mind the huge crest into a sharp left-hander just a few turns after the start—be ready to brake and turn quickly after you hit the ground again. The second half of the lap reintroduces dirt and tarmac in even swaths, so be prepared to adapt quickly. (One last tip: there are quite a few floating banners late in the lap before you get to the finish line. Even the greats have made the mistake of letting off too early and losing a race because they misread which is which. Don’t let that be you, stay on throttle!)
Round 5: Tower Underpass Forward | 3 laps
Tower Underpass is Megaterra’s monkey’s paw: once again we’ve spared you the frustrating chicane-bridge combo, but its replacement can be just as tough. You’ll have to go from bumpy grass into a camouflaged right-hand ramp onto the bridge, and if you don’t brake early enough on the grass to set the sequence up, you’re prone to sliding off the top of it. To end the lap, instead of the dip into the straightaway before the rock-face chicane, you’ll have an alternate round, so you’ll need to compensate for the different approach angle.
Round 6: Speedring Reverse | 6 laps
You know Speedring like the back of your hand by now. What you’ll need to adjust for is the extra speed of the XC-3000 to hit the first corner at a good angle. Get it right early and just keep clicking off laps, and the rest should take care of itself as you clinch (hopefully) your third ExoCross title.
