ExoCross Championships: Titan eXCitement-7000 Trophy

In ExoCross Championship Mode, you’ll take on six different series—two per car—on the path towards becoming ExoCross’ Ultimate Champion. As you advance, you’ll take on higher horsepower and more challenging courses with each series. Today, we’ll take you through the Titan eXCitement-7000 Trophy, your fifth championship overall and the first in the Titan XC-7000.

Titan eXCitement-7000 Trophy

This is it: your first shot at the top level of ExoCross competition. You’ve got more power than ever before in the XC-7000, and an additional shift towards the rear wheels that makes this car that much more unpredictable to drive. Only the best of the best can conquer this series—will you be among them?

Round 1: Indigo Hills Forward | 2 laps

Your first extended layout on Ultima combines Bluetree Harvest and Crimson Wheatland for a new layout. The wide open spaces of the former and alternating surfaces of the latter are a great way to stretch your legs, shake things down, and get comfortable with the XC-7000’s extra power.

Round 2: Pincers Reverse | 6 laps

Alphaterra’s first appearance on the calendar features sections you’ll recognize from Velocidrome Upper, minus the Speedring portions of that lap. As such, this layout comes with a unique twist: two tricky hairpin turns early in the lap. Blowing either can take you out of contention for the win, but be extra careful about the latter, a sharp left into On Ramp that’s easy to overshoot. From there, it’s just managing the bridge and not falling off as you return to level ground.

Round 3: Pandemonium Forward | 6 laps

Remember those handbrake corners you just saw on Pincers? You’ll need those skills for Pandemonium. This aptly named track serves as your introduction to Boreas, whose elevated paths come without exterior walls to keep you on course. Masterful precision is what crowns champions here; messing up your angle on the interior of the hairpins will put you into an unforgiving barrier, and missing the turn will send you into the snowy mountains.

Round 4: Persimmon Blaze Reverse | 2 laps

Comprised of Crimson Wheatland and Goldenkurve, Persimmon Blaze is one of Ultima’s more fun layouts—especially because you get to take Goldenkurve as a left-hander, eliminating the blind crest that can ruin your lead-up to the corner from the opposite direction. There’s also a fair bit of pavement to manage on this track, which can mean wheel slip as you lay the power down.

Round 5: Highwire Forward | 3 laps

Your return to Boreas will be a little more forgiving than Pandemonium was, but not by much. Highwire features far more flowing corners for the most part, but don’t be lulled into a false sense of security; the uneven dirt and paneling, not to mention exposed guardrails, lips, and tresses, can all catch your wheels and ruin your lap if you’re not careful.

Round 6: ExoCrossing Forward | 6 laps

Alphaterra’s final unique layout is the second figure eight of the series, starting you atop the bridge as you alternate Velocidrome’s Upper and Lower sections. The same left-hand hairpin from Pincers that took you onto On Ramp is back, but you’ll be coming around with a little more speed this time, so don’t take your previous braking points for granted!

Round 7: Mint Valley Reverse | 2 laps

Mint Valley starts on Goldenkurve, most notably the blind left-hand crest to set up the downhill charge into its right-hand iteration, before working in parts of Bluetree Harvest in the middle portion of the lap. It’s the second-longest combination of Ultima layouts that you’ll see, and as such each lap offers plenty of opportunity to both make—and recover from—mistakes.

Round 8: Octocircuit Forward | 6 laps

Your third and final figure eight course of the season starts atop Megaterra’s bridge and soon after makes you pass through that same tricky chicane-bridge combo that was so frustrating on Lakefront Esses. At the other end of the track, you’ll have a right-hand hairpin to take you up the grated banking from Peaks and Valleys—if you can nail this corner, it’s one of the most rewarding moments on all of Proteus.

Round 9: Catwalk Reverse | 3 laps

Your final visit to Boreas in this series takes most of the corners you saw on Highwire and attacks them from the opposite direction. The exception is the high-speed upper section that you saw at Pandemonium, which is taken the same way.

Round 10: Outer Rings Reverse | 2 laps

Here it is: the ultimate ExoCross layout. All three of Ultima’s smallest parts combine for a trek through the most iconic elements of each and a lap that clocks in at over three minutes for even some of the sport’s best. With that much time on track, this is as close to a true endurance race as you’ll find on Proteus, and a win (or title) after two laps here is like few others.
